On June 22, 2025, the Middle East entered a new, dangerous chapter. Overnight, the United States launched bunker-busting strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, three of the regime’s most heavily guarded sites. Hours later, Iran fired over two dozen missiles at Israel in retaliation.

While the world was sleeping, the region inched closer to war. And for many, it no longer feels like a “proxy” conflict—it’s real, raw, and rapidly unfolding.

US Strikes First: "Spectacular Success" or Strategic Misstep?

In a high-risk move, the US deployed B-2 bombers and Tomahawk missiles to target Iran’s key nuclear infrastructure. Former President Donald Trump (now re-elected) described the attack as a “spectacular success.”

But Israeli President Isaac Herzog was more cautious, calling the sites “very hard hit,” but not completely neutralized. Iran’s Foreign Minister responded with a chilling warning: “The consequences will be everlasting.”

This was not just a strategic strike, it was a public message: Iran’s nuclear ambitions will not be tolerated.

Iran Fires Back: Sirens, Smoke, and Chaos in Israel

Tehran’s reply was swift. Two waves of ballistic missiles about 25 to 27 targeted central and northern Israel. Sirens wailed across Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem. Buildings were damaged, including homes, schools, and a senior care facility.

The Israeli Health Ministry confirmed 86 injuries, including several children. our are in critical condition. Public events have been canceled, and schools remain shut as authorities brace for more attacks.

Civilians in Fear: Mass Evacuations and Power Cuts

In both Iran and Israel, civilians are bearing the brunt. Thousands of residents in Tel Aviv and Haifa have been evacuated. Iran, anticipating more retaliation, is seeing people flee major cities like Tehran in panic. Electricity has been cut in several districts to prevent further airstrike damage.

In just 24 hours, nearly 100,000 civilians have been displaced across the region. Humanitarian organizations are overwhelmed, and borders in Lebanon and Jordan are being fortified to contain possible fallout.

Beyond Bombs: The War of Misinformation

This isn’t just a physical war—it’s a digital one.
Within hours of the attacks, AI-generated images, edited missile videos, and deepfakes flooded social platforms like X (formerly Twitter) and Telegram.

A CNN analysis confirmed that 45% of viral posts about the Iran-Israel conflict were misleading or entirely fake. While some images showed genuine destruction, others were repurposed from past wars or synthetically generated to inflame tensions.

And that’s the real threat: public panic driven by disinformation is becoming a weapon of war.

The Bigger Picture: Is Global Peace at Risk?

The question now is: will this escalate into a regional war or even a global one? Gulf states like Saudi Arabia and the UAE are calling for calm but are quietly preparing for disruptions—especially to oil exports via the Strait of Hormuz.

The United Nations has called for an emergency Security Council session. Russia and China have condemned the US strike. Europe, for now, is watching—worried, but distant.

But here’s the uncomfortable truth: the world can’t afford to look away.

We’re at a Dangerous Crossroads

This is no longer a battle of ideologies, it’s a full-blown, multi-layered war involving missiles, misinformation, and massive civilian toll. Every strike, every false tweet, every unverified video is adding fuel to a global fire.
